WILLY RIZZO,
In 1968 he moved to Rome and started work as a furniture designer for his personal needs because, according to him, "Scandinavian furniture was neither comfortable enough nor luxurious enough". In response to the demand, he created his workshops in 1970 and launched his sales outlets all over the world.
"Imagination and a strong modern style" are the words that define his style.
He opens a Willy Rizzo store, rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, then several in France and Europe, as well as outlets in New York, Miami and Los Angeles. His creations are published in many magazines and exhibited in museums around the world.
Since he had many friends in fashion and film, orders poured in. One of his first clients was Ghighi Cassini, followed by the Jet Set and the wealthy Italian high society. Salvador Dali ordered from him as well as Brigitte Bardot, Lenny Kravitz and many others.
Lenny Kravitz described the austere look of this modern designer's furniture as "very strong, very masculine and really funky."
Willy Rizzo died in 2013, but his works will last forever!
